Due to the Coronavirus/Covid-19 epidemic, and in line with Government guidance, Radmat Building Product have implemented the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme. Through this implementation we have placed some employees on ‘Furlough Leave’, which will have an impact on our sales, quoting, order, delivery and site inspection lead times as outlined below. All staff on furlough leave are available to come back to work as normal as and when business demands require it. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
Impact on day-to-day business and operations
Office Function (sales, quotations, order processing, accounts)
E-mails to employees who have been placed on furlough leave are being automatically forwarded to employees who remain working from home. Replies may therefore take longer than usual. Telephone calls are being diverted to employees who remain working from home. Replies to voicemail messages may also therefore take longer than usual to return. On Friday 20th March all Radmat offices were closed. A single person will be collecting the post daily until further notice.
Radmat hold significant stocks at our numerous warehouses within the UK, and a significant proportion of our product sales are for products manufactured within the UK. Where products are imported suitable alternatives from UK sources have been established. Our warehouses remain open and are receiving deliveries.
Logistics & Delivery
Orders for deliveries to construction sites have reduced in line with the closure of sites, we have therefore put a number of drivers on furlough leave. Deliveries continue with a skeleton staff and will be scaled up as and when required.
Access to all warehouse facilities is limited to staff employed at that location only. Deliveries into the warehouse are still being accepted but drivers will not be allowed to enter the warehouses. Collections are no longer possible at any warehouse.
With a significant number of construction sites not operating we have placed our Site Quality Technicians (SQT’s) in furlough leave. As and when required SQT’s will be taken off furlough leave to inspect installations as usual. In doing so they will follow Government guidelines on social distancing, increase hand washing and avoid public transport.
Employee not on furlough leave are using Skype/Microsoft Teams/Google Hangout/Webex to hold meetings. Face to face meeting are being postponed to a later date.
Radmat Technical Support functions have always been home office based remote of Head Office. Technical support will be impacted by furlough leave but remains available.
No external visitors can enter any Radmat offices until further notice. Internal meetings will be held via Skype/Microsoft Teams/Google Hangout/Webex.
All travel on public transport is banned. A company or private vehicle must be used to travel.
All training is on-hold for the next 4 weeks.
