Single Layer Membrane

TPO modified Reinforced Bitumen Membrane, without surface chippings, for use in fully bonded, mechanically fixed or loose laid & ballasted roof waterproofing on zero falls, flat or pitched roofs.  Suitable for refurbishment, and new build applications.

EshaUniversal is a unique roofing membrane manufactured from recycled materials and 100% recyclable. Manufactured using a special patented process that incorporates end-of-life bitumen and polyolefin products, EshaUniversal is a shrink-free single layer membrane that is more flexible and stronger than conventional membranes and has greater stability and durability.

Can achieve a BRE Green Guide to Specification A+ ratings.

EshaUniversal Overlay System

EshaUniversal Overlay Systems provide an efficient way of improving the thermal efficiency of an existing building, reducing the annual heat energy costs. They are installed over a suitably prepared existing roof surface, a Radmat Total Care survey is required to assess condition and suitability. In New build applications a suitable structural deck must be provided. Green Roof Systems are available for Overlay, Upgrade & New Build applications.

APPLICATION

Suitable for refurbishment applications over a variety of existing waterproofing and deck types.

GENERAL

Overlay systems can be installed directly to a suitably prepared roof surface or over a thin layer of thermal insulation that provides a level surface. EshaUniversal is adhered to the surface and all overlaps are hot air or torch welded.

WATERPROOFING

3.2mm thick EshaUniversal is bonded with EshaBond Universal Adhesive.

APPLICATION

Suitable for refurbishment applications over a variety of existing waterproofing and deck types.

GENERAL

EshaUniversal is suitable for both warm roof and inverted loose laid & ballasted applications. In Overlay systems they are installed over a suitably prepared existing roof surface or recovery board. They require a minimum of 80 kg/m2 ballasting weight from either 20/40mm rounded pebbles, paving slabs or a MedO green roof.

WATERPROOFING

The 3.2mm thick EshaUniversal is loose laid over the surface with all overlaps are hot air or torch welded. The membrane is temporarily ballasted prior to the installation of the final ballast finish.

APPLICATION

Suitable for refurbishment applications over a variety of existing waterproofing and deck types.

GENERAL

Mechanically fastened single layer Overlay systems are installed over a suitably prepared existing roof surface and recovery board to prolong the life of the building. They are most suited to metal and timber decks but can be installed over concrete. Esha Reinforced Bitumen Membranes are BBA Certified to have a durability of ‘in excess of 30 years’.

WATERPROOFING

In Overlay systems a thin layer of thermal insulation is used to provide a level surface and a barrier between the EshaUniversal and the existing roof system.

EshaUniversal single layer membrane is then mechanically fastened through the overlay board using ProFast thermally broken tube washers and screws. All overlaps are hot air or torch welded.

EshaUniversal Upgrade Systems

EshaUniversal Upgrade Systems provide an efficient way of improving the thermal efficiency of an existing building, reducing the annual heat energy costs. They are installed over a suitably prepared existing roof surface, a Radmat Total Care survey is required to assess condition and suitability.

In New build a Radmat Area Technical Manager will work with the specifier to develop a specification and consult on detail design, thermal calculations etc.

GENERAL

Fully bonded single layer Upgrade & New Build System systems can be achieved using a contact adhesive with EshaUniversal membrane bonded to a suitable thermal insulation or timber deck. Esha Reinforced Bitumen Membranes are BBA Certified to have a durability of ‘in excess of 30 years’.

WATERPROOFING

A choice of EshaUniversal or single layer membrane is adhered to the overlay board using EshaBond CA or EshaBond PU adhesive. All overlaps are hot air welded.

EshaUniversal is a single layer Thermoplastic Polyolefin modified reinforced bitumen roofing membrane with a polyester/glass fleece and polyester/glass mat reinforcement and a PP-Spun bond fleece upper and lower surface. This unique 3.2mm thick membrane does not require chippings for UV protection.

Roof Deck options

Structural concrete decks can be classified as either reinforced (cast in-situ), precast, pre-stressed or lightweight aerated.

Profiled metal deck can be made from steel or aluminium in a variety of thickness and profiles.

Timber decks can be manufactured from either plywood or Oriented Strand Board (OSB).

Composite decks typically comprise an insulation board core sandwiched between factory laminated steel or timber sheets.
