Radmat, together with Lindner Prater, are delighted to have achieved three awards at the prestigious LRWA awards in Liverpool. Congratulations to all the winners and participants.
Across all three projects Radmat’s PermaQuik Hot Melt Monolithic and ParaFlex Cold-Applied Waterproofing Systems were applied across roofs, terraces, and vertical details. Guaranteeing long-term watertight integrity for the design life of the buildings.
Liquid Roofing Project in a Buried Application (Sponsored by Quantum Insulation): One Leadenhall
Located next to the Grade II listed Leadenhall Market in London, this new 35-storey commercial building comprises multiple terraces, plant decks and roof areas totalling more than 2,700 sq m.
Hot melt waterproofing was installed across each area, together with cold-applied liquid waterproofing for junctions, penetrations, and party wall interfaces. Terrace greenery, including urban planting and attenuation crates, improved views and ecological performance. High-rise logistics, sequencing with multiple trades, and working at height over a busy central London Street added complexity.
Sustainability Project of the Year (Sponsored by Unilin Insulation): 76 Southbank
This central-London Grade II listed building has been refurbished into 11,000 sq. m of office space powered by renewable energy. Delivering more than 200 per cent biodiversity net gain (BNG), the project incorporates landscaped terraces, biodiverse roofs and a blue roof.
Electric melters were used to install hot-melt waterproofing, melting packaging into the process for zero waste. Timber pallets were recycled, and just-in-time deliveries reduced storage and emissions. The project delivered apprenticeships, local recruitment, and community volunteering initiatives. Responsible sourcing, guided by an in-house BREEAM professional and ISO 14001, supported circular principles and helped to reduce the contractor’s carbon footprint by 30 percent.
We are proud to have delivered the flat roofing system and various finishes across multiple levels of the Grade II-listed structure.
Lindner Prater and Radmat were also Highly Commended for in this category for: 19-35 Baker Street
The scheme comprises just over 200,000 sq. ft of high-specification office space and 51 residential units, including an allocation for affordable housing.
At ground-floor level the retail units fronting Baker Street, George Street and Gloucester Place will be linked by a central courtyard spanning the length of the site, offering a diverse and carefully curated mix of operators to create a vibrant new retail and restaurant destination for Marylebone.
The Net Zero Office building project is all-electric, with natural ventilation, and targets an ambitious range of industry benchmarks including a BREEAM excellent rating, Well ‘Enabled’, Wired Platinum, zero waste to landfill, and an EPA A rating.
The team delivered a diverse and technically challenging roofing package to the multiple terraces, plant decks and roof areas across multiple blocks.
