Blue Roof Flow Restrictor

DESCRIPTION
The Radmat Blue Roof Flow Restrictor controls roof discharge flow rates as part of a Radmat Blue Roof System. Project specific calculations are performed taking into account the number of outlets, total catchment area and available storage area. Required targeted roof discharge flow rates are achieved by reducing the rate rainwater can exit the roof via the outlets. Calculating the orifice diameter (point of restriction) and the maximum depth of water attenuation (Hmax) are paramount to ensuring the safe temporary attenuation of water during a critical storm event. Every Blue Roof Flow Restrictor is customised to each project before supply and installation.

SUITABLE APPLICATIONS
One Restrictor is to be installed over every roof outlet as part of an inverted roof construction. To be installed as part of a Radmat Blue Roof System, consisting of – Flow Restrictors, Blue Roof Geocells, MedO G12 Geotextile Filter Membrane, Inspection Chambers, Insulation, ProTherm XPS X MK Water Flow Reducing Layer (WFRL) and WFRL Sealing Tape. Threaded Overflow Tube to be installed – screwed in until tight.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Detailed installation instructions are provided in the product packaging. Summary: WFRL layer laid over insulation. At outlet location, the WFRL is cut to form an opening. The Blue Roof Flow Restrictor is situated under the WFRL and directly over the outlet. The WFRL is securely taped to the Restrictor with WFRL Sealing Tape, rolled flat with a Rubber Roller (Part Number: SIG HRR).
